Historical Sketch

The McNeese State University Office of the President oversees all departments of the University.  Five presidents have served MSU:  Lether E. Frazar, 1944-1956; Wayne N. Cusic, 1957-1969; Thomas S. Leary, 1969-1979; Jack V. Doland, 1980-1986; and Robert D. Hebert, appointed in 1987. 

Scope and Content Note 

The McNeese State University Office of the President Records consist of six series:  Series I. Microfilm Records, Series II. Lether E. Frazar, Series III. Wayne N. Cusic, Series IV. Thomas S. Leary, Series V. Jack V. Doland, and Series VI. Robert D. Hebert.  The Microfilm records, 1945-1990, are in chronological order and span each of the five presidents.  The remaining five series, 1949-2001, are in alphabetical order under each president.  The records contain the office files of the presidents, in the order in which the presidents created and used them, including correspondence, notes, legal documents, contracts, and reports, as well as documents relating to major events on campus.
